Google has introduced a new feature called "Ask Photos" for its Google Photos app, available for both iOS and Android users. This feature uses Google's Gemini AI to enhance search capabilities. Users can ask questions in natural language to find specific memories or information in their images. Examples include finding the best photos from national parks, identifying trip locations, and determining the expiration dates of tickets. Ask Photos can understand the context and subject of photos to provide answers to questions. It can also curate the best images from a trip, provide trip highlights, and suggest top pictures with captions for social media. Personal data in Google Photos is not used for ads, and some queries will be reviewed by humans to improve the feature. Data is not linked to a Google Account for privacy protection, and answers provided by Ask Photos are not reviewed by humans unless feedback is given or in rare cases to address abuse or harm.
