Google Gemini Is Conversationally Precocious, But Still Awkward

Alex Cranz from The Verge shared her experience with Gemini Live, a new AI assistant that feels more human-like than others. She found it difficult to interrupt Gemini Live due to its pleasing masculine tone and easy speech, which made it seem more human. During a session, Gemini Live continued talking excessively, making it uncomfortable for Cranz to interrupt. She compared the interaction to talking to her 9-year-old godson, who also doesn't understand social cues. Cranz believes that AI assistants must go through stages of awkwardness to become less socially awkward.
