Louvre Heist Suspects Caught, Crown Jewels Still Missing

Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with the audacious daytime heist at the Louvre Museum. During the robbery, approximately $100 million worth of historic French crown jewels disappeared. The daring theft involved four individuals who used a cherry-picker to enter the museum and chainsaws to break through glass cases. One suspect was caught at Paris Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport attempting to board a flight to Algeria. The second suspect was arrested shortly after in Paris. Both men are in their 30s and are reportedly known to the police for previous crimes. Authorities believe the robbers may have been commissioned to steal the jewels. While some valuable items like Empress Eugénie’s diamond diadem and corsage-bow brooch were stolen, her damaged but restorable imperial crown was found near the museum. The remaining jewels have been secured at the Bank of France. Police have collected over 100 DNA, hair, and fingerprint samples, which are expected to aid in identifying the culprits. The author personally observed apparent understaffing at the Louvre, suggesting a security lapse that facilitated the heist. The article criticizes France's focus on diversity and wokeism, implying it has led to a decline in security and the loss of national history.
