A 14-year-old boy, Colt Gray, is accused of a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia, which resulted in the deaths of four people and injuries to nine others. Gray will be tried as an adult and is charged with four counts of felony murder. Last year, the FBI received tips about online threats to commit a school shooting, which led to an investigation by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. During a visit to Gray's home, he denied making any threats and expressed concern that someone was accusing him of threatening to shoot up a school. Gray's father, Colin Gray, said he kept hunting rifles in the home but only allowed his son to use them under supervision. The responding officer could not substantiate the claim that tied Colt Gray to the Discord account due to inconsistencies in the tip sent to the FBI. The profile's user name was written in Russian and translated to "Lanza," a reference to Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooter. Gray's father claimed his son did not know or speak Russian. Gray's first court appearance is set for Friday at 8:30am.
