Apple Vision Pro M5 review: A better beta is still a beta

The revamped Apple Vision Pro features a faster M5 chip, a more comfortable Dual Knit Band, and a slightly sharper display. Primarily a $3,500 developer kit, it signifies Apple's continued commitment to spatial computing. The M5 chip offers up to 50 percent faster performance in rendering avatars and spatial scenes. The Dual Knit Band addresses comfort issues with the original design by improving weight distribution. While the headset's design remains similar, the display can render more pixels due to the M5 chip. The M5 also allows for refresh rates up to 120Hz and improves battery life. VisionOS has evolved with features like Spatial Personas for immersive FaceTime calls. Apple has added support for PS VR2 Sense controllers, enhancing VR gaming capabilities. Although impressive, its high price and limited content make it feel like a beta product, awaiting a more accessible and cheaper version.
