If US Gives Long-Range Weapons To Kiev, Occupied Buffer Zone May Reach Poland: Medvedev

Russian Deputy Chairman of the Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, warned that if the US supplies long-range missiles to Ukraine, Russia's military might expand the proposed buffer zone all the way to Poland. Medvedev's statement came as the Biden administration is considering approving the long-range missiles the Zelensky government has been requesting. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously mentioned the possibility of creating a buffer zone on Ukrainian territory if attacks from Ukraine continued. Medvedev's warning essentially describes the possibility of establishing Ukraine as a buffer zone against all of NATO, particularly its eastern flank country of Poland. The threat of massive escalation comes as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues, with Russia primarily focusing on solidifying the territories of the Donbass. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also issued a warning, stating that the US has crossed the threshold they designated for themselves and that Russia's red lines should not be joked about.
