This rumor has surfaced before, with a previous claim of 7.5W reverse wireless charging for charging accessories like AirPods or Apple Watch. While iPhones have had limited reverse charging capabilities through the MagSafe Battery Pack, this feature was tied to the Lightning port. The discontinuation of the MagSafe Battery Pack and the switch to USB-C on iPhone 15 models changed this. Current iPhone 15 models can reverse charge devices via USB-C, but not wirelessly. Supply chain analysts have predicted a return of a USB-C MagSafe Battery Pack, but its release is uncertain. The iPhone 17 lineup is expected to be unveiled in mid-September.
