Google Workspace Updates

Available in beta: Policy Visualization across Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive

Google is implementing a new feature called "Policy Visualization" to provide users with a clearer understanding of security restrictions applied to their documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. When interacting with policy-protected content, users will now see a shield icon, banner, and side panel that explains the specific actions that are restricted. This enhanced visibility aims to prevent confusion and frustration by informing users about the limitations imposed by data loss prevention (DLP) rules or trust rules. The feature is currently available in Open Beta and requires users to opt-in by filling out a form. It will be enabled for specified domains within 7 days of sign-up. Policy Visualization is available to users with Google Workspace editions including Business Starter, Standard, Plus, Enterprise Starter, Standard, Plus, Essentials Starter, Enterprise Essentials, Essentials Enterprise Plus, Frontline Starter, Standard, Education Fundamentals, Standard, Plus, the Teaching & Learning Upgrade, and Workspace Individual Subscribers. The feature aims to improve user experience and ensure compliance with security policies.
