Democrats frustration with their party sees sharp increase, poll shows

A recent Pew Research Center poll reveals growing frustration among Democrats with their party leadership. The level of Democratic dissatisfaction has increased significantly since 2019, reaching 67%. This frustration is mainly attributed to the perception that Democrats aren't sufficiently opposing the Trump administration. Conversely, Republican frustration has decreased, with 40% expressing dissatisfaction and a majority feeling hopeful about the GOP. Overall, more Americans are frustrated with Democrats than Republicans, but the perception of both parties being too extreme is similar. Few Americans feel pride in either party or believe their interests are well-represented. Both Democrats and Republicans believe compromise is crucial for the opposing party's politicians. However, less than half on either side think their own party leaders should compromise with the other side. The poll surveyed over 3,400 adults in late September 2025, with a small margin of error. This data highlights weakening party confidence leading up to the 2026 midterm elections.
