Gaza Ceasefire Has Resumed After Israeli Soldier & Over 100 Palestinians Were Killed Tuesday

Following alleged Hamas gunfire on its troops in Rafah, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered powerful strikes in Gaza. The IDF reported attacking dozens of terror targets and terrorists, stating a reservist was killed in the Hamas ground attack. Gaza health authorities reported over 100 Palestinian fatalities in the strikes, which have since abated. Israel announced the resumption of the ceasefire in Gaza at 10 am local time. An international security lecturer suggested these strikes were likely coordinated with the United States. He believes the US would have permitted a response given the Israeli soldier's death. However, he noted that Israel is aware the ceasefire is crucial and cannot be seen as collapsing the deal. Former President Trump voiced support for Israel's actions as retribution for the assault. Trump called for the ceasefire to hold, emphasizing Hamas's need to behave. He stated that if Hamas doesn't behave, they will be eliminated. After approximately 12 hours of bombing, the Israeli military reimposed the ceasefire.
