Home Depot is using AI to help you flip your house faster

Kai is an AI-powered renovation tool designed to assist house flippers. It analyzes photos and videos of homes to identify necessary repairs and generate material specifications. This platform offers SKU-level material suggestions and cost estimations. Partnering with Home Depot, Kai allows for direct ordering of materials from the retailer's extensive inventory. The tool, created by Or Agassi, is an "AI-native renovation intelligence platform" for projects of all sizes. Kai replaces Home Depot's previous tool and utilizes its renovation project data for AI model training. Initial users include large housing investors, aiming to optimize project timelines and budgets. Kai adapts to various renovation types and budget constraints. The goal is to address the shortage of affordable housing by streamlining the renovation process. Agassi's previous venture, Stoa, inspired Kai's development, now made possible by technological advancements. Kai plans to expand its services to include individual homeowners, DIYers, and contractors in the coming years. By the end of this year, Kai expects to serve tens of thousands of customers.
