IKEA Debuts Miniature NFC Phone Bed to Combat Nighttime Phone Scrolling

IKEA introduced a small, NFC-enabled "Phone Sleep Collection" bed designed to help smartphone users reduce nighttime phone usage. The tiny bed works with the IKEA app to track scroll-free sleep time, rewarding users who achieve seven hours of sleep for seven consecutive nights with a voucher. The bed utilizes built-in NFC technology, prompting users to open the IKEA UAE app and enable sleep tracking. The app monitors sleep time in the background, requiring iOS users to allow Motion & Fitness tracking. To earn the voucher, users must consistently meet the seven-hour sleep goal for a week. Currently, the "Phone Sleep Collection" bed is exclusively available in the United Arab Emirates as a promotional item. Customers must spend AED 750 or more in-person at IKEA, including an item from the Complete Sleep Collection, to receive the tiny bed. Due to the promotion's popularity, IKEA might consider expanding it to other countries in the future. This initiative aims to promote better sleep habits by incentivizing users to disconnect from their phones at night.
