Google is releasing two significant updates to Connected Sheets pivot tables that utilize BigQuery. The first update doubles the row capacity for these pivot tables from 100,000 to 200,000 rows. This increase allows users to analyze significantly larger BigQuery datasets directly within Google Sheets. The second update introduces a "drill down" feature for these pivot tables. Users can now double-click or right-click to view the granular data behind any aggregated value. This drill-down functionality automatically generates a pre-configured extract for detailed analysis. Both updates aim to enhance the analytical capabilities within the familiar Sheets environment. These features are enabled for users with the necessary BigQuery permissions. The rollout to end-users begins on October 30, 2025 with a gradual implementation. These updates are accessible to all Google Workspace customers and individual subscribers. Additional resources are provided in the Help Center for further information. These enhancements aim to improve access to and analysis of BigQuery data.
