Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has found potential voter fraud cases involving noncitizens, double voting, and deceased individuals. He is referring 1,084 alleged cases of noncitizen registration to the U.S. Department of Justice after county prosecutors declined to act. Additionally, 167 individuals are suspected of voting in federal elections as far back as 2018. LaRose initiated referrals to county prosecutors last year, but most were dismissed due to insufficient evidence. These findings contradict claims that noncitizen voting is nonexistent. LaRose's office also identified instances of double voting in the same federal election and voting after death. He also noted issues like ballot harvesting and improper registration. LaRose highlighted that while such issues are rare, they warrant investigation. He is now seeking federal prosecution of the cases through the DOJ. LaRose's letter to the DOJ mentioned previous criminal referrals and a desire for federal review.
