Samsung is using NVIDIA chips to build its new AI chip factory

NVIDIA is collaborating with South Korean companies and the government to enhance the nation's AI infrastructure. Samsung is constructing an AI factory utilizing 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to optimize chip manufacturing processes. This collaboration is expected to improve efficiency, predict maintenance needs, and enhance autonomous operations at Samsung. NVIDIA will assist Samsung in adapting its chipmaking lithography platform, leading to significantly improved performance. Hyundai plans to use 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs for developing AI models in manufacturing and autonomous driving. SK Group will launch an industrial AI cloud using 50,000 NVIDIA Blackwell server chips for various applications. This cloud will power advancements in memory, robotics, digital twins, and intelligent AI agents. The Korean government is deploying 50,000 NVIDIA GPUs across multiple facilities, including the National AI Computing Center. This deployment will encompass facilities operated by local companies like Kakao and Naver for sovereign AI infrastructure. The partnerships highlight NVIDIA's significant role in advancing AI capabilities within South Korea. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang met with executives from Samsung and Hyundai to solidify these collaborations.
