How to Install macOS Tahoe Public Beta

Apple has released the macOS Tahoe public beta for testing ahead of its fall launch. To access it, users need to enroll in the free Apple Beta Software Program. macOS Tahoe introduces a significant redesign with the Liquid Glass interface and new features like the Phone app, enhanced Spotlight, deeper Apple Intelligence integration, a Games app, and customizable Messages backgrounds. Live Activities will appear on the Mac menu bar, and the Control Center is now fully customizable. However, Apple advises against installing beta software on your primary Mac due to potential bugs and system instability. It is recommended to use a spare Mac for testing or wait for the official release. macOS Tahoe supports newer Mac models with Apple silicon and specific Intel-based Macs released from 2019 onwards. Support has been dropped for several older Intel Mac models, including certain 2018 and 2019 MacBook Pros and 2019 iMacs. Before installing, it is crucial to back up your Mac using Time Machine to allow for a potential revert. To install, sign up on Apple's Beta Software Program website, then navigate to System Settings > General > Software Update. Select "Beta Updates," choose macOS Tahoe from the dropdown, and click "Upgrade Now" to start the installation.
