He landed his troops on the coast near Palase, and they marched overnight through the mountains to take the city of Orikum without a fight during the Roman Civil War in 48 BC. Caesar's Path is a short loop trail in Llogara National Park, steep as it gains 900 feet of elevation under ancient black pines before opening into a sunny glade with views of Orikum and the sea.
