A whistleblower has revealed that many Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents received only a two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams as training before being assigned to guard Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13. The training was inadequate and plagued by technical issues, leaving agents ill-prepared for their mission. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has called for answers from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas about the training methods and the reassignment of HSI agents from child sexual-exploitation cases to serve as security for Trump. Hawley's office previously revealed that the majority of Trump's security detail at the rally were not Secret Service agents but HSI agents. The lack of proper training and experience among these agents is concerning, especially given their unfamiliarity with standard protocols at such events.
