The next game from the Sifu team is... a 5v5 arcade soccer title?

Sloclap, the French studio behind Absolver and Sifu, is working on a new project called Rematch, a 5v5 arcade soccer game. Rematch is a skill-based game where players control one character, including the goalkeeper, and the goal is to score by working together as a team. The game has a stylized look and is designed for fast-flowing action, with no fouls or offsides, and a Rocket League-style boundary wall that can be used to the players' advantage. According to Sloclap, the game is about being in the right place at the right time and executing to perfection, with an emphasis on positioning and deep tactics. The game allows players to call for passes and has a minimap to help with spatial awareness, and goalkeepers can play as sweeper keepers to close down counter attacks. Sloclap built the game around three core tenets: helping players feel like athletes, the pressure of high-stakes matches, and the joy of being part of a team. The game will have competitive modes, quick play options, and private games with customizable rules, as well as a seasonal content system that will introduce new features and events. Rematch is set in the future and does not have any licensing agreements with real-world teams, but Sloclap is not ruling out such agreements in the future. The game will be a premium title, available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and is scheduled to be released next summer, with beta tests planned for this spring. Overall, Rematch aims to capture the joy of playing soccer with friends, with a focus on teamwork, strategy, and exciting gameplay.
