SUSE Unveils Major Rebranding, New Data-Protecting AI Platform

SUSE has announced a significant rebranding effort at KubeCon North America, renaming its entire portfolio to make product names more descriptive and customer-friendly. Notable changes include Rancher becoming SUSE Rancher, Liberty Linux becoming SUSE Multi Linux Support, Harvester becoming SUSE Virtualization, and Longhorn becoming SUSE Storage. Additionally, SUSE has launched SUSE AI, a secure platform for deploying and running generative AI applications. SUSE AI addresses key challenges faced by enterprises as they move from AI experimentation to deployment, particularly in areas of security and compliance. The platform provides security and certifications at the software infrastructure level, along with zero-trust security tools, templates, and compliance playbooks. It ensures that generated data is correct and private customer and IP data remain secure, and supports deployment across various environments. SUSE AI allows customers to select and deploy their preferred AI components and large language models. The platform provides simplified cluster operations, persistent storage, and easy access to pre-configured shared tools and services. SUSE AI is not an AI chatbot, but rather a secure platform for deploying and running gen AI applications. Overall, SUSE's rebranding effort and new product offerings aim to provide customers with more descriptive and customer-friendly names, as well as innovative solutions for deploying and running AI applications.
