OmniVeo: Built Across Timezones, Fueled by Grit

The author, a non-developer and full-time junk hauler, had an idea for a platform to learn complex software after a frustrating Photoshop experience. The idea evolved into OmniVeo, a gamified platform with a live AI mentor that guides users step-by-step. The author joined the Bolt.new hackathon and built a global team with members from India, Bangladesh, and Nigeria. Despite different time zones and schedules, the team worked together to build OmniVeo. The author learned the importance of daily calls and not relying solely on Discord chat for communication. The team integrated various technologies, including Gemini Vision and ElevenLabs, to create a real-time screenshot loop. Despite technical challenges, the team's resilience and communication enabled them to complete the project. They submitted their project with just 8 minutes to spare after an all-nighter. The experience taught the author that with the right people and platform, anyone can build a groundbreaking product in a short time.
