Apple has unveiled iOS 26, its new operating system for the iPhone, which brings many changes and features, including a new transparent design language called Liquid Glass and improvements to phone calls, gaming, artificial intelligence, Messages, and Maps. However, not everyone can download iOS 26 yet, and the availability depends on the type of beta version. The iOS 26 Developer Beta is available now, but only for registered Apple developers, and it's not recommended for non-developers due to its buggy nature. The iOS 26 Public Beta will be available in July, and it's safer to use, but still not recommended for everyone. The iOS 26 general release, which is the finished and thoroughly tested version, will be available in September, and it's the safest version to download. Anyone can register for the Apple Developer Program or sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program for free to get early access to beta software. The developer beta is updated first, and then the public beta, to protect public beta testers from critical bugs. The general release is historically made available in September, and it's expected to continue this year.
