Meta has ended its bonus program on Threads

Meta has discontinued its Threads bonus program, which previously paid creators for posting content. The program, launched roughly a year prior, offered creators monthly bonuses based on post counts and views. Creators reported receiving their last payments around the end of April. Meta has not officially explained the reason for ending the program, and information about it has been removed from an Instagram support page. It remains unclear what Meta's future strategy is for attracting and retaining creators on Threads. The platform is still attempting to attract brands and notable figures while also introducing new tools for creators. Threads struggles to drive traffic to external websites and facilitate follower growth. The algorithmic timeline makes it challenging for creators to build a dedicated audience. Despite this, Meta aims for Threads to become a platform with a billion users. The absence of creator incentives raises questions about how this goal will be achieved.
