Is uncooked sushi rice supposed to haave a smell?

I've decided to give homemade sushi a try. I've found a good deal on a 5kg bag, so I decided to buy it. As expected, even after using it a bit, I didn't manage to make the whole thing, but as I started prepping some to cook, I've noticed the uncooked rice had a smell. Kinda reminds me of milk that has just gone bad. Is that normal? I'm not really familiar with sushi rice, and I don't know if it's stil fine to eat, or if I should just take the loss and throw the bag out. Edit: Just to clarify, the bag was not airtight, but I rolled the opening and closed it with a clip. I've stored the bag in a closet. submitted by /u/Gret1r
