Google is introducing new insights and recommendations to make it easier for admins to apply context-aware access policies. These insights will be surfaced to customers who have not deployed any context-aware access policies to their users, highlighting potential security gaps and suggesting pre-built levels to remediate them. Admins can customize the recommendations before applying them broadly and will receive quarterly emails with insights and actionable recommendations. When a recommendation is deployed, it will first be placed in Monitor Mode to allow admins to understand how the policy will block user access over time. This feature is designed to help admins improve their organization's cybersecurity posture by proactively identifying areas that need attention. Context-aware access allows admins to set up different access levels based on a user's identity and the context of the request, providing granular access controls without the need for a VPN. The new feature is available now for Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains and is available to Google Workspace Enterprise Standard and Plus, Education Standard and Plus, Enterprise Essentials Plus, and Cloud Identity Premium customers. Admins can visit the Help Center to learn more about protecting their business with context-aware access and applying recommended access levels. There is no end user impact or action required. The feature aims to significantly reduce the need for admins to identify security risks themselves.
