Capcom is developing a new installment in the Resident Evil franchise, titled Resident Evil Requiem. The game was unveiled during Summer Game Fest Live, promising a fresh experience for fans. The game will feature a new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, who seems to be tied to previous storylines. Grace is the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a character from the series. Koshi Nakanishi, a veteran director from previous Resident Evil games, leads the development of Requiem. This entry will not be the ninth main chapter of the series, though it may be considered the ninth. Resident Evil Requiem is scheduled to launch on February 27, 2026. A playable demo will be available at Gamescom in August, allowing fans to experience the game early. The game is set to delve into grim mysteries, building on the legacy of the series.
