Apple's latest entry-level iPad is back on sale for $299

The A16-powered iPad, released a few months ago, is now available for $299, a $50 reduction from its list price. The tablet briefly dropped to $278 but this is the best price seen otherwise. This iPad has Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, 128GB of storage, and comes in four colors. It's our current pick for the best budget iPad, scoring 84 in our review. However, the display lacks an anti-reflective coating, has a 60Hz refresh rate, and isn't as premium as other iPads. The Apple Pencil compatibility is limited, with only the original 2015 model offering pressure sensitivity. Despite these limitations, it's still a good option for everyday tasks like email, messaging, and reading. The chip is fast, storage and RAM have increased, and the build quality and battery life are solid. If you don't need advanced features, this iPad might be all you need.
