iOS 26 Adds a Useful New Wi-Fi Feature to Your iPhone

iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 have added a new feature that syncs sign-in details for captive Wi-Fi networks across devices. This means that if one device has already connected to a network, other devices will automatically prompt to use the same login information. Captive Wi-Fi networks require users to fill out a web form before gaining access and are commonly found in public places like hotels, gyms, and coffee shops. The feature was first reported by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman and later discovered in the iOS 26 developer beta code by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. Analyst Max Weinbach spotted the feature in action, where his iPhone prompted him to use the Wi-Fi details from his already connected iPad. The feature is likely to extend to macOS 26 as well, making it easier to connect multiple Apple devices to these networks. The feature was not mentioned during the WWDC 2025 keynote, but it is now functional in the second iOS 26 developer beta. iOS 26 is expected to be released in September, bringing this feature to the general public. This new feature will make it quicker and easier to connect to captive Wi-Fi networks on multiple devices. Overall, this is a useful addition to the iOS and iPadOS operating systems.
