Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire claimed on X that Hunter Biden owes his family $300,000 in back rent for a Venice, California, home. Maguire shared this information after President Biden pardoned his son for crimes spanning 11 years. Maguire called Hunter an "Absolute shit bag" for skipping out on a year of rent at his family's Venice home, which was $25,000 a month. Hunter tried to pay with a book of art made from his own feces, but it was not worth anything except for money laundering. He changed the locks and used secret service to enforce, leaving Maguire's family with no access to the property. Maguire commented on the pardon, stating he has no issues with it but has issues with Democrats lying and using lawfare against the other side. X users pointed out that the pardon doesn't cover civil claims. Hunter's indictment on tax fraud revealed his business dealings over the years, including being paid $1 million a year by Ukraine gas giant Bursima in 2014 as an "energy expert" to buy influence from Joe Biden. In 2018, Hunter spent $384,000 on hookers and told his ex-wife he couldn't make his alimony payment due to insufficient funds.
