Iran's Foreign Ministry has denied reports that Tehran and Washington are scheduled to resume indirect nuclear negotiations. The ministry's spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, stated that public opinion in Iran is currently too angry to even discuss negotiations and diplomacy. This comes after a report claimed that backchannel discussions were being revived following last month's Israeli-US war on Iran. However, Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-e Ravanchi had earlier said that no date had been set for further negotiations. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi had mentioned that a return to talks was under consideration, but did not confirm any decision or timeline. Baghaei emphasized that recent Israeli strikes on Iranian cities and civilian infrastructure made diplomacy politically impossible, citing war crimes such as the bombing of Evin Prison Hospital that killed 79 people. He called for international condemnation of Israel and demanded that it be held accountable and punished for its crimes against the Iranian people. The sixth round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the US was cancelled in June after Israeli warplanes bombed Tehran. Iranian and Omani sources confirmed that the talks were suspended indefinitely in response to the assault. The Iranian government is currently not considering resuming nuclear negotiations with the US due to the recent Israeli attacks.
