Ollie Holman, a 21-year-old student, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for designing and distributing online phishing kits that facilitated $175 million worth of fraud. The kits, which mimicked government, bank, and charity websites, allowed criminals to harvest victims' personal information and defraud them. Holman created and supplied 1,052 phishing kits that targeted 69 organizations across 24 countries, earning him an estimated $405,000 between 2021 and 2023. The kits were distributed through the encrypted messaging service Telegram, and Holman also offered tutorials on how to use them, building a network of nearly 700 connections.
