This article presents a structured framework for classifying and evaluating TEE-assisted blockchain systems (TCSC). It distinguishes between layer-one and layer-two architectures, identifies 16 desirable properties (including privacy and blockchain-native traits), and analyzes threats from user, TEE, and blockchain adversaries. Security considerations span host integrity, TEE vulnerabilities, software bugs, and key management protocols. The goal is to highlight potential pitfalls and examine whether current systems address them effectively.
