Nintendo Locked Down the Switch 2's USB-C Port, Broke Third-Party Docking

Nintendo has implemented a new encryption scheme on the Switch 2's USB-C port, which is preventing compatibility with third-party docks and accessories. This encryption scheme is the reason why there are no portable Switch 2 docks available on the market, despite the demand for such products. Accessory manufacturers, including Jsaux, have confirmed that Nintendo's actions have made it difficult for them to develop compatible docks, with Jsaux even pausing its plans to build a Switch 2 dock. The issue is not just related to the Switch 2's increased voltage requirements, but rather Nintendo's intentional efforts to lock down the USB-C port and restrict third-party accessory compatibility.
