In Chiswick, London, there is a small house that has become a landmark for fans of British comedy. The house is located in a gated driveway off the Great Chertsey Road. In the 1920s, the local council bought the surrounding area from the Duke of Devonshire and turned it into a public area called Dukes Meadows. A groundskeeper's cottage was built, and when a golf course opened in the 1990s, the cottage became privately owned. The three-bedroom cottage was available for rent from the 2000s to the 2010s, but it's unclear when it got the name "Ibis Cottage". Today, it's better known as the Taskmaster House. The house was chosen as the filming location for the comedy panel show Taskmaster, where comedians complete ridiculous tasks. The house's grounds, including a caravan, shed, stage, and geodesic dome, have been the backdrop for many iconic moments. As of 2025, Avalon Productions, the production company behind Taskmaster, is the only long-term tenant of the house, which is still owned by the golf course. The house is not open to the public, but curious fans might be able to catch a glimpse through the fencing or surrounding greenery.
