Apple Pay Now Available in Puerto Rico

Apple Pay has expanded to Puerto Rico, allowing iPhone, iPad, and Mac users to make purchases in-store and online without a mainland credit or debit card. Despite being a US territory, Apple Pay was previously unavailable for Puerto Rico banks, although users could use US credit and debit cards. Banco Popular in Puerto Rico now supports Apple Pay, enabling cardholders to add eligible cards to the Wallet app for contactless payments. These cards can be used at any location that accepts Apple Pay. Apple launched Apple Pay in 2015 and has since expanded it to dozens of countries and territories worldwide. In addition to the Puerto Rico expansion, Apple has also launched the Tap to Provision feature in Hong Kong, Macao, and Mongolia. Tap to Provision allows users to add eligible credit and debit cards to the Wallet app by tapping the card on the back of their iPhone. This feature provides a convenient way to add cards to the Wallet app. Apple continues to expand its mobile payment service to new regions and territories. The expansion to Puerto Rico and the launch of Tap to Provision in other countries mark significant milestones for Apple Pay's growth. Apple Pay is now available in many countries around the world, offering users a convenient and contactless payment method.
