Python Software Foundation: Thinking about running for the PSF Board? Let’s talk!

The Python Software Foundation (PSF) Board elections are an opportunity for the community to choose representatives to shape the future of the Python community. This year, four seats are open on the PSF Board, with current members Dawn Wages, Jannis Leidel, Kushal Das, and Simon Willison completing their terms. The PSF Board is hosting Office Hour sessions on their Discord server to discuss the election, with two dedicated sessions on July 8th and August 12th. These sessions provide a chance to ask questions and learn about the role of a PSF Board member. To participate, join the PSF Discord server, which is moderated by PSF Staff and locked between sessions. Anyone who cares about the Python community and has a few hours a month to dedicate can run for the Board. Resources are available to learn more about the PSF and the role of a Board member, including videos and annual impact reports. Nominations for the Board open on July 29th and close on August 12th, and individuals can nominate themselves or others, provided they have their consent. A "call for nominations" blog post will be published soon with more information and resources. The election is a chance for the community to have a say in the direction of the Python community.
