tvOS 26 Adds These New Features to Your Apple TV

Apple has announced tvOS 26, which is now available in developer beta and will be released to the public later this year. The update includes a new Liquid Glass design, which is only available on the Apple TV 4K (2nd generation) and Apple TV 4K (3rd generation). The TV app has been updated to display movie and TV show posters in vertical cards, taking up less space on the screen. An optional setting allows profiles to be shown when it wakes, providing quick access to watchlists and personalized recommendations. tvOS 26 also links login information to Apple Accounts for supported apps, making sign-in easier. Apple Music subscribers can use their iPhone as a wireless microphone for the Apple Music Sing karaoke feature, which also gained lyrics translation for select songs. FaceTime has been enhanced with incoming call notifications, Contact Posters, and Live Captions in several languages. The update also adds new Aerial screen savers captured in India and allows users to designate any AirPlay speaker as the permanent speaker for their Apple TV. The update is compatible with all Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K models.
