Apple's HomeView is set to launch on November 13, priced at $299, with both tabletop and wall-mounted versions available for pre-order. This new device offers enhanced recipe navigation by extracting ingredients and steps from Safari, providing step-by-step cooking guidance. Siri is accessible hands-free, via swipe, or through "Type to Siri," with Apple Intelligence features integrating for both general knowledge and personal context with compatible Apple devices. Guests can control smart home accessories, check the weather, and AirPlay audio to the HomeView. The adaptable interface dynamically changes based on proximity, displaying more information as a user approaches. Customizable faces, similar to watch faces, adjust to time of day, weather, and holidays. While lacking an App Store, HomeView supports CarPlay audio and video from a linked iPhone, with developers needing to add specific support. Handoff functionality allows seamless transfer of content like songs and recipes from an iPhone. The device also supports Live Activities for timers and Intercom messages, keeping information visible while multitasking. Integrated temperature and humidity sensors, along with its role as a home hub for HomeKit and Matter devices, enhance smart home capabilities.
