3 GitLab features to level up DevSecOps workflows
GitLab has introduced over 140 improvements to its AI-powered DevSecOps platform to help build better and more secure software faster. To highlight the most impactful capabilities, GitLab is spotlighting three new features that make an immediate impact on software development. The first feature is Root Cause Analysis, which diagnoses broken pipelines faster by analyzing log files to uncover the core issue behind an error message and suggests a fix. This feature is available as a GitLab Duo Enterprise add-on and helps developers focus on building differentiated products. The second feature is Vulnerability Explanation, which gives developers a detailed description of the vulnerability infecting their code, real-world examples of how attackers can exploit the vulnerable code, and practical suggestions for remediation. This feature is also available as a GitLab Duo Enterprise add-on and helps create a proactive security culture. The third feature is Advanced SAST, which uses a proprietary detection engine to identify exploitable vulnerabilities and delivers more accurate results, reducing false positives and tension between security and development teams. Advanced SAST is available in the GitLab Ultimate tier. These features aim to help teams build software faster and more securely. GitLab was named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for DevOps Platforms and the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AI Code Assistants.
