5 Apple Products to Get OLED Displays
Apple is planning a significant rollout of OLED displays across its iPad and Mac lineups over the next three years. The iPad mini is slated to receive an OLED screen in 2026. Following that, the MacBook Pro is expected to adopt OLED technology in late 2026 or early 2027. The iPad Air is set to transition to OLED in 2027. For Macs, both the iMac and MacBook Air are anticipated to feature OLED displays between 2028 and 2029. This move aims to enhance image quality with richer colors and deeper blacks. Current iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPad Pros already benefit from OLED technology. The iPad Air will utilize a single-stack OLED with a 60Hz refresh rate, differentiating it from the brighter, dual-panel Tandem OLED in the iPad Pro. It remains uncertain if the Studio Display XDR will ever receive an OLED upgrade. The entry-level iPad and MacBook Neo are expected to continue using LCD displays.
