$666 edition of Doom includes game box that, itself, plays Doom

Limited Run Games is releasing physical editions of Doom and Doom II, including a special "Will it Run Edition." The Will it Run Edition includes a game box that actually plays the original Doom game. This unique edition costs $666 and is limited to only 666 copies. It includes a screen-enabled game box, soundtrack on cassette, a certificate, trading cards, and Cacodemon toys. The games are enhanced with updated visuals, 60 FPS, 16:9 support, and updated controls. There are also local co-op, online play and new maps and mods. Cheaper editions like the Big Box Edition and the Standard Edition are available as well. These editions are available on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (with a digital download for PC). Preorders open on April 18th, and close on May 18th. The developers improved the game to meet modern standards of play. The ability for Doom to run on unusual devices inspired the design of the box.
