A recent CNET survey revealed that a significant majority of U.S. adults have no interest in purchasing a foldable iPhone. Seventy-five percent of respondents indicated a lack of desire for such a device. This disinterest spans all age demographics, with older generations showing the lowest interest. Even among those curious about a foldable iPhone, the rumored price point of over $2,000 is a major deterrent. On average, U.S. adults suggested they would only pay around $781 for a foldable iPhone. This figure is substantially lower than the anticipated retail price. The survey also indicated that 41% of U.S. adults are reconsidering their upgrade plans due to expected price hikes. This reassessment comes after Apple previously increased prices on many of its products. Many consumers are now considering cheaper models, switching brands, or opting for refurbished devices. A considerable portion of adults have no immediate plans to upgrade their phones regardless of new releases.
