A complete genome for the common marmoset
The common marmoset is a key primate model for human disease, yet large regions of its genome have remained unresolved until now. A complete, end-to-end assembly reveals centromere organization, a ribosomal-DNA-driven mechanism of cross-chromosome recombination, and over 500 previously unknown marmoset-specific genes, advancing our understanding of primate genome evolution.
