A family of small proteins links c-di-GMP riboswitch signaling with sporulation in Clostridioides difficile
The second messenger c-di-GMP inhibits sporulation in the pathogenic bacterium Clostridioides difficile through unclear mechanisms. Here, Badilla Lobo et al. show that the expression of sporulation genes is modulated by a family of small membrane-associated proteins encoded by genes that are controlled by c-diGMP-regulated riboswitches.
