A high-energy hydrogen radical initiates efficient electrosynthesis of urea from CO2 and N2
An ionic-liquid-anchored CuBi catalyst enables efficient urea electrosynthesis from CO2 and N2 via a thermodynamically and kinetically favoured H· radical route, wherein H· radicals are formed through relayed electron transfer mediated by in situ-generated ionic liquid radicals.
