A Personal Note to the Access Community
Linda Cannon is retiring from Microsoft after many years of service, entering a new chapter through the Voluntary Retirement Program. She has served as Program Manager for Microsoft Access and wants to assure the community that Access is alive and well. The product continues to be an integral part of Microsoft 365 and Office, receiving ongoing engineering investment and updates. Improvements include enhanced zooming, larger design capabilities, and new developer features, with more in development. Linda highlights the dedication of the engineering team who work to keep Access relevant and reliable for its diverse user base. She acknowledges that much of the essential behind-the-scenes work, like security and bug fixing, isn't always publicly announced. While the next Access PM is not yet determined, Linda hopes for someone with fresh ideas and a commitment to community engagement. She expresses gratitude to MVPs for their advocacy and feedback, which has directly influenced product development. Linda commends Access developers for their ingenuity in creating practical solutions that continue to be vital for businesses and organizations. She expresses her honor in contributing to Access's story and assures her continued support for the product and its users.
