A Supposedly Boring Mall I Might Actually Visit Again

Dylan Thuras and Lulu Miller are doing "Bad Rap Week" on their podcast, where they explore places with bad reputations to find the truth behind them. Today, they're going to the mall, a place that's not typically considered wondrous. Lulu shares her fond memories of malls, and they discuss the food courts and weird carpets. Ella Fetter is doing a story on the PATH, a massive underground mall in Toronto, which is considered boring by many people. Ella's friends think it's a waste of time, but she's determined to find something interesting. She researches the PATH and finds that it's mostly just a way to get around, with 30 kilometers of shops and food courts. Ella decides to explore the PATH with her neighbor Lexi, but they don't find anything exciting on their first day. On the second day, Ella finds a Banksy artwork, but it feels contained and irrelevant in the mall. Ella talks to workers in the PATH, but they don't think anything interesting has happened there, and she starts to feel bored and numb. Eventually, she emerges from the PATH, feeling relieved to be outside in the cold, refreshing air.
