The persevERA study of giredestrant and palbociclib in advanced breast cancer did not meet its primary goal but showed numerical improvement. Giredestrant in the combination was well-tolerated, with side effects aligning with known profiles. Roche is focusing on transforming ER-positive breast cancer treatment, referencing successful results from evERA and lidERA trials. The FDA has accepted a New Drug Application based on evERA data and will receive lidERA data soon. The pionERA study is planned for 2027 in endocrine-resistant breast cancer patients. Giredestrant is designed to block estrogen and inhibit cancer cell growth. The giredestrant clinical development program encompasses multiple trials spanning various stages of breast cancer. The early-stage lidERA trial and the advanced stage evERA trials provide evidence for giredestrant's clinical benefits. The full persevERA results will be presented at a forthcoming medical meeting. Roche aims to identify patients who would gain most from giredestrant treatment.
