Roche announced positive phase III results for investigational giredestrant in early-stage breast cancer. The lidERA study met its primary endpoint, showing a significant improvement in invasive disease-free survival. This marks the first phase III trial of a selective estrogen receptor degrader (SERD) to show benefit in the adjuvant setting. Giredestrant demonstrated a statistically significant and clinically meaningful benefit compared to standard-of-care endocrine monotherapy. These findings support its potential as a new standard of care for early-stage ER-positive breast cancer. Overall survival data showed a positive trend, and giredestrant was well-tolerated. Data will be presented at an upcoming medical meeting and submitted to health authorities. This is the second positive phase III result for giredestrant, following the evERA study. The extensive clinical program for giredestrant reflects Roche's commitment to improving outcomes for ER-positive breast cancer patients.
