Every year, on the second code Tuesday of October, we celebrate Ada Lovelace Day - an important opportunity to appreciate the achievements of women in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM). As an unapologetic feminist, I’ve never needed much of an excuse to celebrate amazing women who’ve been paving the way and shaping the world in which we live. However, over the years, I’ve become disheartened by the predictability of such occasions, which all too often, promote straight, white, cis-gendered women.
